This topic is to retrospectively request funding for work done by Chris Hobcroft at ETHBerlin from 22-25 August 2019, and beyond.
Requested amount - I would like to open this to suggestions from community, for what amount to request as a donation from the Community Funding DAO.
Please propose an amount in a comment below, which you believe represents the value delivered. Bear in mind that this was 4 full days of prep, execution and follow-up, with little sleep, plus expenses for being in Berlin.
Here is a breakdown of activities and deliverables:
-
Created 5 project proposal - each one specified in an issue on ETHBerlin’s “Find a Team” repo on Github, and each one formalised by an Aragon DAO.
-
Shared the proposals on Twitter, gaining 11 retweets and 30 likes, which led to 65,852 impressions and 160 engagements (at time of writing).
-
Seed-funded each DAO with 10 DAI of my own money (as a way of demonstrating how the Finance app works, to everyone who looked).
-
Shared the proposal for MyDAODashboard in a post on Twitter, gaining 2 re-tweets and 10 likes, with 2,447 impressions and 133 engagements.
-
Recruited a team of 4 to build MyDAODashboard, showing a user-centric view of a user’s DAOs, instead of a DAO-centric view. This focussed primarily on showing a user the DAOs using the Aragon framework.
-
The team won a prize from GraphProtocol, which will be paid into the MyDAODashboard DAO.
-
Shared the proposal for Speech Recognition Infrastructure Services on Ethereum in a post on Twitter, gaining 6 likes, with 1,167 impressions and 19 engagements.
-
Recruited a team of 3 to research and prototype Speech Recognition Infrastructure Services on Ethereum. All members are now part of the underlying speechrec DAO on mainnet.
-
Demonstrated how to set up a DAO on Aragon to all team members, plus stipulated that in order to be part of the team, they must hold a voting token in the DAO. This allowed them to understand how Aragon’s DAO software works.
-
Shared lessons learned and experiences with @jorge, @lkngtn and @sepu85
-
Raised awareness of the upcoming Aragon Fundraising launch with anyone discussing DAOs (because I’m really excited about this).
Here’s a photo of the combined team for Hackathon DAOs:
And finally… one team member (Santiago Siri from Democracy Earth) managed to secure double the voting weight of other vote holders, and launched a Twitter thread to attempt to resolve this, which gained 4 retweets and 15 likes.
