Is it realistic to get 1000 DAI from AGP10 every month?

I’ve received 1470 DAI from AGP10 today. It allows me to cover my debts.

If I can rely on being able to get 1000 DAI from the system every month while working on my Aragon project, then I could leave my job and work on the project full time.

Can I rely? Is it a good idea to leave my job?

Hello Victor, It looks like you created a funding transfer in the AGP10 dao, yet didn’t share that in your forum thread that you proceeded with this. It’s hard to enforce these norms, of course. But it looks like only one person voted on your proposal. I would not recommend that you leave your job based on this circumstance, as it is unclear what the vote outcome will be once this becomes a recurring funding request. Can you explain what debts are being covered?

Can you explain what debts are being covered?

I owe $650 for SEO service for selling my books and some money to my parents for a share in the house and the food.

I would strongly advise you not to

I feel this is an abuse of the process. If this becomes a habit (people making transfer reqests without announcing them) I think we should change the paramaters of the DAO.

FWIW if I was aware of the funding request I would have voted Against.

Ahh it looks like there is a need to monitor the Community Funding DAO more closely or implement an Approvals App -similar to the one in the Nest DAO- with soemeone in charge of filtering proposals.

Can you describe what have you done for Aragon?

I joined Aragon-related development recently.

I started to write software for this project. I want if possible work for this project full time.

I also have reported a bug or two.

@Aaron (and others who see this) friendly reminder that we do have email notifications now so you can receive an email when a new vote is started in organizations you are interested in

I echo @stellarmagnet’s comments and advise against relying on CFDAO proposals, for now. If you become a consistent contributor to the community and have several proposals approved then you may consider it but based on the low level of support for this proposal and that you have only had this one proposal approved I would say it is too soon to quit your job and rely on the CFDAO for income instead.

For future reference, there is a light process defined by AGP10 creator @anteater that community members are suggested to follow:

If proposals aren’t announced and explained this way then it is likely that future proposals will be rejected and you will lose trust from the community. Please keep this in mind for the future, and I would ask that you consider sending the funds you received from Vote #26 back to the org in good faith and if you are still interested then go through the suggested process to keep the CFDAO fair and transparent for everyone.

@light

I would ask that you consider sending the funds you received from Vote #26 back to the org in good faith.

I can’t: I already spent enough money to make sending it back impossible.

This is outrageous, specially that from @light’s comment, your only remark was on the monetary side. Really disappointing to see community initiatives like this to flourish, only to be exploited without any kind of recourse.

This is a clear abuse. This behavior is not OK and, even though I can empathize with your personal situation, for me this is stealing money from the project and you should return it. You are an enemy to the project until you do so.

I’d encourage the community to kill AGP-10 (killing can be as easy as returning funds to the AA every time the DAO receives money) until Proposal Agreements ships.

Again, not OK, and we should be totally fine with pointing fingers to bad actors and letting them know that they are not welcome here and that those having these types of behaviors will be treated with the utmost hostility.

Let me request a transfer of 0.0001 DAI with the comment that if you agree to it, it means that you approve my previous payment. If this 0.0001 DAI transfer is approved, I feel no reason to return it. OK?

I don’t understand why I am so severely blamed for this, when most of the proposals are voted namely by one person, just like mine.

In fact, I violated nothing:

How to make proposals to the Community Funding DAO:

no hard requirements are defined in AGP-10, but here’s a process I suggest proposal authors follow

Suggest and no hard requirements.

I am blamed for violating rules, but I violated a personal suggestion by anteater that is not a requirement.

You just should formulate your rules better. If it would be a requirement I would not do this way. What I am blamed for?

Anyone agree that I didn’t violate?

Hello Victor,

You may not have infringed hard written rules, but it is a norm in the Aragon Community that people will do work and ask for feedback before asking to be funded/compensated. Hope it makes sense! :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers!

P.S: note that a vote was triggered here https://mainnet.aragon.org/#/agp10/0xdbe4a3cc1eca108c1215d974b9bab8863f522b75/vote/27/

P.S: I’ll vote no to this https://mainnet.aragon.org/#/agp10/0xdbe4a3cc1eca108c1215d974b9bab8863f522b75/vote/27/

Why?

I didn’t violate this “norm” at least formally: I did work in https://github.com/vporton/courts repo and asked for feedback in this thread.

I can see that the Rewards Court proposal received no validation or support from the community. On my side, I do not think it is valuable to the Aragon ecosystem either and will vote No on vote #27.

You vote of your own opinion or following the community? (You remind me “I will vote Putin because he is supported by most of the Russian nation!”)

Explain why you do not think it is valuable to the Aragon ecosystem.

It is unimportant whether my proposal is valuable to the Aragon ecosystem. It is important for the entire world.

Vote no if you want children to die of hunger, Linux desktop day be is 2100, mathematicians have 10000 less money than porn stars, Christians in Iran to be poor, etc. It is all for the sake of preserving the existing economic system, the 19 century capitalism and also taking decisions based on Aragon financing only ignoring the rest of the world. (Does Aragon exist to finance itself or to help the rest of the world? If yes, you are legally obliged to change your status to a for-profit corporation.) Vote no if you want the economy be like 19 century.

Vote yes.

By the way it is indeed important for the Aragon ecosystem, because tokens received from the courts may go directly to Aragon budget. Your claim that it is unimportant for Aragon community is false.
