Warning! The CRDAO is a Rinkeby DAO. Do not sent mainnet tokens to it!
Membership
CRDAO members are defined as BIRD
token holders. This grants members the ability to:
- vote on CRDAO
BIRD
votes - add nominees to the CRDAO address book
For a full list of permissions associate with BIRD
voting, please see the CRDAO permissions page
Member Onboarding
CRDAO members can be onboarded at the discretion of current CRDAO members. It is expected that before creating a vote to add a new member to the CRDAO discussion and rough consensus is achieved off-chain via one of the official CRDAO communication channels. Any CRDAO member can create a vote to mint a BIRD
token for a new member at any time. It is up to current BIRD
token holders to either approve or deny this vote.
Member Responsibilities
CRDAO members are expected to:
- contribute to CRDAO discussions
- vote on open
BIRD
votes - vote in weekly CRDAO allocations
Member Offboarding
If CRDAO members are unable or unwilling to perform their membership responsibilities their membership will be revoked. It is expected that before creating a vote to remove a current CRDAO member discussion and rough consensus is achieved off-chain via one of the official CRDAO communication channels. Any CRDAO member can create a vote to burn a BIRD
token for a new member at any time. It is up to current BIRD
token holders to either approve or deny this vote.
Nominations
Any Aragon community members on the Aragon forum can nominate any other community member at any time. Nominations occur in the CRDAO Nominations thread. Nominations must be for something awesome. Spammy un-awesome nominations will be removed from the thread. Nominations do not guarantee CRDAO rewards, but make nominees eligible for them.
Example nomination:
Nominating @aaron for training a flock of carrier pigeons to carry secret keys to secret places for maximum security!
Nominee Onboarding
Once a community member is nominated they are eligible to be added to the CRDAO address book. This does not guarantee CRDAO rewards, but makes nominees eligible for them. CRDAO members will then use the dot voting app to allocate a weekly reward between nominees.
Voting
CRDAO allocation votes will evolve over time. Initially CRDAO BIRD
token holders will take on this responsibility. As more Aragon community members get involved in the CRDAO a community token will be used for allocation votes and the BIRD
token will only be used for admin purposes to maintain the CRDAO.
V1
BIRD
token holders will use the dot voting app to allocate CRDAO rewards on a weekly basis.
V2
CRDAO community members will use the dot voting app to allocate CRDAO rewards on a weekly basis.
V3
SourceCred will be used to automagically allocate voting tokens to the Aragon community, and then everyone will be able to use the dot voting app to allocate CRDAO rewards on a weekly basis.
